That’s ad­min­is­tra­tive, Min­is­ter Hil­lary, PS Mad­lopha not aware

Min­is­ter of Jus­tice and Con­sti­tu­tional Af­fairs Edgar Hil­lary has stated that the Cor­rec­tional Ser­vices per­forms its own ad­min­is­tra­tive pro­cesses which the min­istry is not in­volved in.

The min­is­ter said the de­ter­mi­nant of procur­ing uni­forms and feed­ing the re­cruits does not in­volve his min­istry.

He said his min­istry is not in­volved in ad­min­is­tra­tion is­sues at the Cor­rec­tional Ser­vices.

“Yes, the depart­ment is un­der the min­istry, but the min­istry is just a po­lit­i­cal wing of the depart­ment hence we are not in­volved in their ad­min­is­tra­tive pro­cesses,” clar­i­fied the min­is­ter.

Pub­lic Ser­vice Prin­ci­pal Sec­re­tary (PS) Evart Mad­lopha when also reached said his min­istry is also not in­volved es­pe­cially in the re­cruit­ment drive of the depart­ment which makes him not privy to in­for­ma­tion about bud­get­ing for the re­cruits. He said se­cu­rity forces re­cruit new of­fi­cers on their own and made an ex­am­ple of the po­lice ser­vice where the Po­lice Ser­vice Com­mis­sion which he said is the one that takes care of all the re­cruit­ment pro­cesses.
