Project striking hard on orphaned children
The massive project of issuing financial assistance to the orphaned and vulnerable children (OVC) through Mobile Money platform and their needy family has been necessitated by the high number of dropouts at their school.
The high number of the children taken care of by the DPM’s office has seen government conceptualise a project to try and mitigate the challenge faced as an office thus the role out of the project. Nomphumelelo Dlamini from the DPM’s Office acknowledged the need for such a project to be undertaken as the poverty situation is hard hitting to the very OVC they are mandated to take care of as a department. Dlamini acknowledges that the project is still at a pilot phase yet they have, are hard to grasp on how the country will be able to roll out such a project as it is an expensive exercise.
Dlamini informed the Observer on Saturday that “The project is a kind of assistance for the OVC towards school needs such as uniform, shoes and other school necessities. The project also provide for the of health of the children. The
