VB women to host SA side next week­end

– The Swazi­land Na­tional Vol­ley­ball As­so­ci­a­tion (SNVA) women na­tional team will host South Africa side Kli­plits Vol­ley­ball club next week­end.

The squad will host the Gaut­eng based side in a se­ries of friendly games to be played at a venue still to be con­firmed on Sat­ur­day.

The game will serve as a re­turn match fol­low­ing the se­ries of in­ter­na­tional friendly games played at the Auck­land Park courts last week­end. The games were part of the team’s prepa­ra­tions for the All Africa Games which are funded by the Swazi­land Olympic and Com­mon­wealth Games As­so­ci­a­tion (SOCGA)


SNVA Sec­re­tary Nonophile ‘Affie’ Dlamini con­firmed the devel­op­ments when con­tacted yes­ter­day. “We will be hav­ing a friendly match with Kli­plits club who have re­quested to come and play a re­turn match with the ladies na­tional team. The match will be played next week­end. We are still work­ing on the lo­gis­tics and the team will be an­nounced in due course.

We be­lieve the games will boost the prepa­ra­tions for the African Games to be held in two years ,”she said.

“The team re­sume train­ing as from Wed­nes­day in prepa­ra­tions of the re­turn leg,” she said.

The Thu­lani Maphosa Started the prepa­ra­tions on a high as they man­aged to beat three South African sides dur­ing the games last week­end.
