n 1991 the King open­ing the Big Bend-Lavu­misa Road, which he named Lazidze High way fore­warned that the coun­try’s sur­vival as a na­tion lay heav­ily on the abil­ity to get an econ­omy house in or­der and main­tain an environment which will con­tinue to prove at­trac­tive to out­side in­vest­ments.

IThe King said “Swazi­land sur­vival and fu­ture se­cu­rity is del­i­cately bal­anced be­tween the coun­try’s abil­ity to keep its econ­omy vi­brant and to keep the coun­try’s transport net­work well lu­bri­cated,”.

The King fur­ther stated that an ef­fi­cient transport in­fras­truc­ture had di­rect bear­ing on most other so­cial de­vel­op­ments.
