Ma­sisi sacks di­rec­tor of in­tel­li­gence

- Botswana's new Pres­i­dent, Mokg­weetsi Ma­sisi, has fired his di­rec­tor of in­tel­li­gence and se­cu­rity ser­vices, colonel Isaac Se­abelo Kgosi.

The per­ma­nent Sec­re­tary to the Pres­i­dent, Carter N Morupisi, con­firmed in a press state­ment this week that Kgosi had been re­lieved of his du­ties.

"I wish to an­nounce that his Ex­cel­lency the Pres­i­dent has de­cided to re­lieve Colonel Isaac Se­abelo Kgosi as Di­rec­tor Gen­eral of the Direc­torate of In­tel­li­gence and Se­cu­rity with im­me­di­ate ef­fect and con­se­quently ap­pointed Mr Peter Magosi as the Di­rec­tor Gen­eral of In­tel­li­gence and Se­cu­rity Ser­vices," read part of the state­ment.
