ELO DESTINED FOR GREATER HEIGHTS - RA
The Lubombo Regional Administrator Sylvia Mthethwa has pai d tribute to the sponsors and partners for the success of the 2nd a nnual Mlawula Magadzavane Chall e nge Walk, which was ai med at raising funds for charity and was attended by over 1 000 people.
This was said by the many speakers who made remarks during t he presentation of f ood hampers, clothes and many other goodies by the RA a nd t he Eco Lubombo Organisation (ELO) representatives to the community of Vuvulane S e c t i on 19 on Thursday. The presentation was hel d at Khanyisil e Neighborhood Care poi nt which is a project started by the Christian Family Church Swaziland in partnership with local churches and international donors.
She stated t hat t hey were able to make t he donation because of the contribution made by the different partners a nd c or porat e s t hat c a me through for the walk.
She said t hi s i ni t i a t i ve is a i med at e mpowering t he under-privileged members of the Lubombo region.
“In the pursuit of its objectives the ELO would like to extend a hand to some of the beneficiaries as identified by the stakeholders. It is the hope of the ELO that this endeavor will grow overtime and offer more practical solutions and options to those in need. The socio- economic challenges faced by t he people of t he Lubombo region are insurmountable, but with the help of all t he stakeholders, t he ELO promises to deliver on its promises,” she said.
Sponsors and partners in the project include the ministry of tourism and environmental affairs, traditional authorities, MPs, SNTC, ELO members and general public amongst others.
“It is indeed an indication that the people of Swaziland can be very supportive and generous. I am positive that this initiative will grow and benefit more people in t he near future,” she added.
She thanked the leadership of Vuvulane for supporting the initiative by the church which started the NCP and urged the community leadership to work with the church in their pursuit of establishing an old age home.
