…car rolls in foggy weather

Asenior manager at BuildIt Hardware in Mbabane was killed yesterday when he lost control of his car and it overturned at Malagwane Hill. Information gathered is that the manager was alone in the van when the accident occurred, killing him on the spot. Sources said the accident happened a few minutes before 4pm.

Police and the fire and emergency personnel arrived promptly at the scene but they could not save the manager who reportedly died on the spot.

Chief Police Information and Communications Officer Superintendent Khulani Mamba confirmed the accident, saying police were still investigating the cause.

He, however, stated that information received was that the driver lost control of the car and it overturned, killing him on the spot. He stated that it had been indicated that the deceased held a senior position at Build It, though he was not sure if he owned the hardware or was a manager.

One of the authorities at Build It could not hold his tears back when interviewed as he was still confused and did not believe that his colleague had passed on in this manner. He said he had only learnt of his sudden death and could not proceed with the interview. A close friend of the manager when called confirmed the manager’s death, saying he was a good person as he knew him for many years.

He also revealed that he was on his way to the Mosque at Ezulwini, where the body of the manager will be prayed for in preparation for his burial.
