Sunday Observer - - NEWS -

Local fans of the NBA will be able to watch games without having to subscribe on Kwesé TV since the sports channel, Kwesé Free Sport, will show live basketball games as well as the English Premier League.

According to Strive Masiyiwa, there will be five channels accessed without payment of any subscription. “I think the most exciting development for me this week was our decision to create what we call the “Kwesé FREE TV” boutique,” he wrote on his Facebook page this past week.

He stated that there are a minimum of five free channels which will be available at all time, “…even if someone does not have money on their decoder subscription.” Listing the channels, he wrote; “Kwesé FREE Sport (KFS): the biggest sports channel in Africa, which shows live English Premier League, and NBA games.”

He said Kwesé FREE Entertainment (KFE) a new general entertainment channel, which goes live in January, will show the latest premium shows which include, movies, series, African and children’s entertainment. Within the free bouquet, there will also be an African News which he said would have the best African news channel.

“Local FREE-To-Air Channels: every national broadcaster channel will be available (in this case Swazi TV) as well as Flow TV,” he said.

He assured that in keeping with being a revolutionary idea, Kwesé FREE TV Zone calls for a person to buy the decoder and they will not have to pay to watch the five channels; “We strongly believe that if someone decides to buy a decoder, it must offer service, even without paying for a subscription. Remember the first 30 days of all channels is free.”

Explaining about the option to pay for a few days, Masiyiwas said they want people to have the flexibility to pay just for three days, or seven days, whenever they'd like to access all other channels.

Kwesé TV is available in Botswana, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
