Teddy Vi­lakati wins Septem­ber SRIC monthly mug


GOLF – Young Golfer Teddy Vi­lakati was at his best and braved the chilly weather con­di­tions yes­ter­day to out­class a field of 39 golfers in the Septem­ber SRIC monthly mug.

The golfer had the best day on the golf course as he scored a to­tal of 64 nett points to win the ninth in­stall­ment of the golf com­pe­ti­tion held at the Mba­bane Club yes­ter­day.

Vi­lakati fur­ther proved to be a cut above the rest as he also walked away with the long­est drive in the nov­el­ties sec­tion.

In­ter­viewed af­ter the prize pre­sen­ta­tion Vi­lakati at­trib­uted his suc­cess to hard work and de­ter­mi­na­tion.

“I am happy to have won the tour­na­ment and this was through hard work and per­se­ver­ance. I am con­fi­dent that I will de­fend my crown next month since I want to con­tinue do­ing well in the tour­na­ment,” he said.

Mean­while Swazi­land Royal In­sur­ance Cor­po­ra­tion ( SRIC) Un­der­writ­ing Man­ager Sa­belo Motsa said they were happy with the pro­ceed­ings of the tour­na­ment.

“We are ex­cited and im­pressed with the spirit of com­pet­i­tive­ness dis­played by the golfers and hope they will con­tinue show­ing more pas­sion in the up­com­ing edi­tions, “he said.
