Teddy Vilakati wins September SRIC monthly mug
GOLF – Young Golfer Teddy Vilakati was at his best and braved the chilly weather conditions yesterday to outclass a field of 39 golfers in the September SRIC monthly mug.
The golfer had the best day on the golf course as he scored a total of 64 nett points to win the ninth installment of the golf competition held at the Mbabane Club yesterday.
Vilakati further proved to be a cut above the rest as he also walked away with the longest drive in the novelties section.
Interviewed after the prize presentation Vilakati attributed his success to hard work and determination.
“I am happy to have won the tournament and this was through hard work and perseverance. I am confident that I will defend my crown next month since I want to continue doing well in the tournament,” he said.
Meanwhile Swaziland Royal Insurance Corporation ( SRIC) Underwriting Manager Sabelo Motsa said they were happy with the proceedings of the tournament.
“We are excited and impressed with the spirit of competitiveness displayed by the golfers and hope they will continue showing more passion in the upcoming editions, “he said.
