‘Buffs’ start new season on a high in EL League

SDe­fend­ing cham­pi­ons of the Esi­bayeni Lodge (EL) Un­der-17 League Young Buf­faloes started the new season on a high, as t hey beat Vovovo 3 – 2 in their first match of t he cam­paign. The reign­ing cham­pi­ons took to the field to f a c e - of f with Vovovo at the Somhlolo National Sta­dium yes­ter­day. The Mbongwa Dlamini led-side man­aged to brush off a de­ter­mined Vovovo to fi­nally win the closely con­tested five-goal thriller, and the win will surely be a pacesetter and morale booster to the army side.

Vovovo how­ever came to the party and showed their worth in their maiden ap­pear­ance in the de­vel­op­ment league.

This was the only game played at Somhlolo on the day fol­low­ing the eleventh hour-post­pone­ment of the clash pit­ting Mi­das City and Manzini Sun­down.

Mean­while at the Manzini Old Trade Fair, pit­ting Po­lice Side Royal Leop­ard and Mba­bane High­landers saw ‘Ingwe Ma­bal­a­bala’ man­age a 2-1 win to also start the season with max­i­mum points, start­ing the league marathon pos­i­tively.

As a re­sult, Sun­downs just trained for the whole 90 min­utes they were due to play, and when the clock hit noon, the stage was set for ‘Buffs’ and Vovovo.
