World renowned evangelist and international motivational speaker Bishop TD Jakes shared the stage with South Africa’s celebrated and multi-award winning gospel ensemble Joyous Celebrations on the last day of the Essence Festival dubbed TD Jakes and MTN Joyous Celebration Concert at ICC.
This was part of the line-up witnessed by the throngs of people who came from near and far to be part of the international festival which was happening for the second time in Durban. There was loud round of applause and standing ovation as he took the podium as he was introduced by one of the lead singer of Joyous celebration but once he started talking there was utter silence one could hear a pin drop.
Bishop TD Jakes, rated as number one in the list of richest pastors, took the stage in between the performance by Joyous Celebration which introduced him in style with a song.
The group later stepped of stage and left the most followed preacher who hails from Texas talk to the thousands present on the night.
After his talk which lasted for almost an hour Joyous Celebration took over and mesmerised the strong crowd with the gospel sounds. Also forming part of the group on the night was Nomzamo who is a local artist.
Also lined up on the gospel night were upcoming artists including young stars which are a product of a development done by the municipality.
They included nine and 12 year olds who mesmerised and blessed the audience with their vocal capabilities behind the microphone.
