Lady Jazz beat gal­lant Griffins

BAS­KET­BALL – De­spite dis­play­ing yet an­other gal­lant dis­play young­sters En­jab­ul­weni Griffins even­tu­ally ended up on the los­ing side, fal­ter­ing 58 – 48 against Lady Jazz.

This was dur­ing their Women’s National League (NWL) fix­ture played at the Mavuso Sports Em­po­rium yes­ter­day.

The Philile Zwane led side kept the au­di­ence at the edge of their seats as they matched the ex­pe­ri­enced stars pound for pound and proved that they can cause an upset with their spir­ited, dar­ing dis­play.


The young­sters kept on at­tack­ing and frus­trat­ing Jazz who proved to be stronger in the sec­ond round of the league, and they even won the ladies’ Swazi­land In­ter­na­tional Trade Fair (SITF) tour­na­ment.

The first match which was sched­uled to fea­ture the high fly­ing Phoenix Alumni against base­ment side Shooting Stars but Stars for­feited the match hence, Phoenix Alumni got max­i­mum points, and a 20 – 0 win.


Mean­while, the Men’s Pro­mo­tional League (MPL) fix­ture which pit­ted Ti­tans and Pac­ers saw Ti­tans wal­lop.

Pac­ers with a 99 – 46 win to make their in­ten­tions of join­ing the Elite Men’s League (EML) known to all and sundry. The ac­tion con­tin­ues again to­day at the Mavuso Sports Em­po­rium.
