Police officers’ fitting send-off for their former commissioner
He was the country’s first Swazi police commissioner and a gun salute marked the end of his journey on earth. Senior police officers started arriving at his Zombodze home at about 3am, invigorating the proceedings as they took over the ceremony led by Chaplain Mduduzi Makhanya who tickled mourners with his lighthearted banter.
At around 04:20, the casket was brought to the fully packed tent At around 05: 40am, mourners started leaving for Maliyaduma where the burial took place. At around 07:25am the casket was lowered into the ground. As the casket was being lowered, a number of mourners cried and some had to be comforted by their relatives. Including those who cried were his two wives and some family members. Speaking on behalf of the family at the graveyard was Bishop SDZ Mtetwa who thanked each and every mourner who came to pay their last respect to the late acting Ludzidzini Governor. He also asked the family to remain united even after the burial.
