Sunday Observer - - NEWS -

After a successful partnership with Swazi MTN during this year, Swaziland Empowerment Limited (SEL) has pledged to pump in E570 000 in the Swazi MTN flagship corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme.

This was disclosed by SEL CSR Chairman Shaka Ndlangamandla. He said the board gave them a green light to use this amount. Last year, the company pumped E300 000 after an invitation by Swazi MTN to partner with them in the CRS programme. Ndlangamandla said this qualified them as major sponsors of the programme and they got significant results out of this investment. “We got a lot of mileage and experience from the projects that we did with Swazi MTN,” he said. He said the brand mileage was further boosted by the recent first place crowning of Swazi MTN by the group out of the 22 countries where the company operates in.Ndlangamandla said they also have other projects in the pipeline for the 2017/18 financial year which included the Water Life project, vocational scholarship fund and ceiling for Ekhwezi Primary School new classrooms. He said their initial CRS budget was set at E600 000.

“We have already utilised about E308 000 and we are now left with a balance of about E291 000,” he said.
