Re­ha­bil­i­tate Mobeni Flats – Coun­cil­lor

Bon­gani Mamba who is the Coun­cil­lor of Ward Three, a ward which Mobeni Flats falls un­der has called for gov­ern­ment to re­ha­bil­i­tate the prop­erty.

The clearly sor­row­ful Mamba said an in­ci­dent such as this hap­pened in 2013. He said some of the dam­aged flats were also af­fected in 2013.

The coun­cil­lor then ques­tioned the cred­i­bil­ity of those who fixed up the flats in 2013.

“The Na­tional Hous­ing Board un­der the min­istry of hous­ing and ur­ban de­vel­op­ment is mak­ing lot of money from these flats so it should not be a prob­lem to re­ha­bil­i­tate the prop­erty,” Mamba said.

He went on to note that tenants should be val­ued for their monies they pay as rent. He raised the im­por­tance of fix­ing prob­lems even be­fore they oc­cur.

He went on state that peo­ple on med­i­ca­tion have been af­fected as their medicines were spoiled by the rain. He also passed his con­cern about school chil­dren text books that may have been de­stroyed by the flood­ing.

He won­dered what the chil­dren were go­ing to use for study­ing.

The coun­cil­lor praised the Deputy Prime Min­is­ter Paul Dlamini for com­ing to see for him­self the dam­ages caused by the storm.
