City War­riors are Ing­wenyama Cup re­gional champs

SOC­CER – City War­riors are the re­gional cham­pion soft he Sincem­petelo Mo­tor Ve­hi­cle Ac­ci­dent Fund (SMVAF) Ing­wenyama Cup. The Lubombo based side recorded a 2-0 vic­tory against Shis­el­weni out­fit Young Movers dur­ing an en­counter played at the King Sob­huza Me­mo­rial Sta­dium at Nh­langano yes­ter­day. The epic fi­nal be­tween the two sides was pre­ceded by re­gional play-offs which saw Boy­ane Young Aces and Rail United make the cut af­ter beat­ing Mvuma Hot­spurs and Ng­wane Col­lege, re­spec­tively.

Worth not­ing is that only six re­gional teams will be part of the main tour­na­ment this year fol­low­ing the in­crease of Premier League teams to 14.

The re­gional teams will now join the Premier League side for the main tour­na­ment to be of­fi­cially launched next week
