PRETORIA - Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Tiyani Mabunda says teammate Oupa Manyisa is showing exactly why the club signed him from Orlando Pirates.

Manyisa was struggling for consistency at the Buccaneers in the last few s easons, but it s eems t he move to Chloorkop is bringing the best out of him at the moment.

He and Mabunda are forming a solid partnership in the engine room and have done well on occasions when captain Hlompho Kekana has been left on the bench.

Mabunda says it’s an honour to play with the diminutive midfielder.

“Oupa is a great player. He has been there, he has done that and everybody knows his ability. For us to have a player like him in the team is a plus because he has so much to offer.

“What I realised when I came to Sundowns is that even I was tipped not to be a player for Sundowns. But once you believe in who you are and what you are capable of doing, you don’t change your plans. You know that God will place you at the right place and at the right time. “I am honoured to be playing alongside Oupa. Our midfield at Sundowns is strong.
