SOCCER - Mbabane Swallows are ready for their CAF preliminary round first leg tie against Bantu FC.

The ‘Beautiful Birds’ arrived in Lesotho on Friday morning and will take on the home side in the CAF match this afternoon at 3pm.

Interviewed after their last training session held at the Setsoto Stadium yesterday, the team’s coach Thabo ‘Koki’ Vilakati said they were now prepared for the game and would be all out for a win away from home.

“We have had a good stay here since we arrived on Friday morning. We have trained hard in preparation for the game and all focus is on it now. It will not be an easy match but we are ready for the opposition now,” he said.

The coach said playing away was never easy.

“We are well aware that we will be playing under hostile conditions but we are used to that and will give the game our best. The players are ready for the match and the good thing is that they know exactly what is expected of them.”

The coach noted that there were fortunate not to get injuries ahead of the game.

“We are at full strength and all my players are focused on this day. It is a good thing going into this match with an injury-free squad.”

He said they would try by all means not to disappoint the Swazi nation and win this game.

“We are representing the country here and we just want to make the nation happy and come back with victory.”

Meanwhile, the team captain Tony ‘TT’ Tsabedze said they were all geared up for the game as the spirit was high in the camp.

“Yes the team we are playing against is not an open book but we are deter- mined to win. Our objective is to go to the second leg on a comfortable level hence we need to win or at least get a draw,” he said.

‘TT’ said as players they were ready for the match.

“We will be ready for anything and we promise to give it our all inside the field of play and go back home with a win,” he said.

The local giants will take on the Lesotho outfit at the Setsoto Stadium this afternoon. Kick off time for the clash is 4pm and the second leg will be at Somhlolo national Stadium on February 20.
