ESWATINI RAILWAYS SHINES IN QUALITY AWARDS
Eswatini Railways leads in quality service both in SADC and in the country. This was evident on Friday evening when the defending champs swept two awards out of the six categories.
The parastatal scooped the Eswatini Organisation of the Year and the Eswatini Service of the Year -Large Enterprise awards. In both categories, the parastatal received a trophy and a certificate.
This was not the first time the company was awarded such prizes as it is also one of the winners of the 2017 Eswatini Quality Awards, and the SADC Service of the Year Awards.
Speaking during the 2018 Eswatini Quality Awards ceremony held on Friday night at Royal Swazi Spa in Ezulwini, Prime Minister Ambrose Mndvulo Dlamini said such recognition of excellence is significant in boosting the image of industry in the kingdom and enhancing efforts to present Eswatini as a preferred investment destination.
“Let me from the onset congratulate Eswatini Railways, one of the winners of the 2017 Eswatini Quality Awards, for going all the way to raise the country’s flag in the region by winning the SADC Service of the Year award,” he said.
The premier pointed out that his father used to work for the same company and reported to the current administration and was humbled by the recognition of the Eswatini Railways.
The 2018 Eswatini Quality Awards had a total of 40 entrants, coming from organisations in the private, public sector and also individuals. Some organisation participated in more than one category.
There were six categories overall and winners of the other four included Swaziland Meat Industries that won the Eswatini Product of the Year Large Enterprise with National Maize Corporation being the first runner-up.
Stefanutti Stocks Construction Swaziland (PTY) Ltd became the first runner- up in the Eswatini Service of the Year - Large Enterprise category where Eswatini Railways emerged the winner. Lubombo Referral Hospital won the Eswatini Service of the Year - Micro Small and Medium Enterprise category with Mankayane Government Hospital being the first runner -up and Bholi Clinic emerging the second runner-up.
Individuals were also recognised in the category of the Eswatini Quality Ambassador of the Year, where Sicelo Mashwama took the trophy while Thabang Masangane became the first runner-up and Sandile Dlamini got a certificate for the second runner-up.
Eswatini Conformity Assessment Body of the Year was won by National Molecular Reference Laboratory while Eswatini Water Services Corporation laboratory was the first runner up.
