Eswa­tini Rail­ways leads in qual­ity ser­vice both in SADC and in the coun­try. This was ev­i­dent on Fri­day evening when the de­fend­ing champs swept two awards out of the six cat­e­gories.

The paras­tatal scooped the Eswa­tini Or­gan­i­sa­tion of the Year and the Eswa­tini Ser­vice of the Year -Large En­ter­prise awards. In both cat­e­gories, the paras­tatal re­ceived a tro­phy and a cer­tifi­cate.

This was not the first time the com­pany was awarded such prizes as it is also one of the win­ners of the 2017 Eswa­tini Qual­ity Awards, and the SADC Ser­vice of the Year Awards.

Speak­ing dur­ing the 2018 Eswa­tini Qual­ity Awards cer­e­mony held on Fri­day night at Royal Swazi Spa in Ezul­wini, Prime Min­is­ter Am­brose Mnd­vulo Dlamini said such recog­ni­tion of ex­cel­lence is sig­nif­i­cant in boost­ing the im­age of in­dus­try in the king­dom and en­hanc­ing ef­forts to present Eswa­tini as a pre­ferred in­vest­ment des­ti­na­tion.

“Let me from the on­set con­grat­u­late Eswa­tini Rail­ways, one of the win­ners of the 2017 Eswa­tini Qual­ity Awards, for go­ing all the way to raise the coun­try’s flag in the re­gion by win­ning the SADC Ser­vice of the Year award,” he said.

The premier pointed out that his fa­ther used to work for the same com­pany and re­ported to the cur­rent ad­min­is­tra­tion and was hum­bled by the recog­ni­tion of the Eswa­tini Rail­ways.

The 2018 Eswa­tini Qual­ity Awards had a to­tal of 40 en­trants, com­ing from or­gan­i­sa­tions in the pri­vate, pub­lic sec­tor and also in­di­vid­u­als. Some or­gan­i­sa­tion par­tic­i­pated in more than one cat­e­gory.

There were six cat­e­gories over­all and win­ners of the other four in­cluded Swazi­land Meat In­dus­tries that won the Eswa­tini Prod­uct of the Year Large En­ter­prise with Na­tional Maize Cor­po­ra­tion be­ing the first run­ner-up.

Ste­fanutti Stocks Con­struc­tion Swazi­land (PTY) Ltd be­came the first run­ner- up in the Eswa­tini Ser­vice of the Year - Large En­ter­prise cat­e­gory where Eswa­tini Rail­ways emerged the win­ner. Lubombo Re­fer­ral Hospi­tal won the Eswa­tini Ser­vice of the Year - Mi­cro Small and Medium En­ter­prise cat­e­gory with Mankayane Gov­ern­ment Hospi­tal be­ing the first run­ner -up and Bholi Clinic emerg­ing the sec­ond run­ner-up.

In­di­vid­u­als were also recog­nised in the cat­e­gory of the Eswa­tini Qual­ity Am­bas­sador of the Year, where Sicelo Mash­wama took the tro­phy while Tha­bang Masan­gane be­came the first run­ner-up and Sandile Dlamini got a cer­tifi­cate for the sec­ond run­ner-up.

Eswa­tini Con­form­ity As­sess­ment Body of the Year was won by Na­tional Molec­u­lar Ref­er­ence Lab­o­ra­tory while Eswa­tini Wa­ter Ser­vices Cor­po­ra­tion lab­o­ra­tory was the first run­ner up.
