Man at­tacks woman at Yemfo Bar, steals her E100

A 37-year-old man made yet an­other ap­pear­ance in court in less than a year for as­sault­ing and rob­bing a woman of her items.

Jab­u­lani Dlamini of Jubuk­weni was dis­ap­pointed when Mag­is­trate Si­fiso Vi­lakati recog­nised his face and in­deed, he con­firmed that he once ap­peared be­fore him for a dif­fer­ent charge. This time around, Dlamini is fac­ing three crim­i­nal charges said to have been com­mit­ted on Mon­day.

It is al­leged that he at­tacked one Nomsa Mt­set­fwa, who was en­joy­ing her al­co­holic drinks at Yemfo Bar, and stole her money amount­ing to E100. Dlamini al­legedly as­saulted her with open hands sev­eral times on the face and body be­fore hit­ting her with a fist on her stom­ach, thus caus­ing her in­juries. The as­sault is said to have come after he was con­fronted about the miss­ing money. It is al­leged Dlamini con­tin­ued with his vi­o­lent be­hav­ior when the po­lice were called to the scene of crime as he re­fused to be ar­rested. He was charged with theft, as­sault with in­tent to cause griev­ous bod­ily harm and re­sist­ing ar­rest. When he ap­peared in court, he was granted bail fixed at E1 000.
