School bids farewell to ‘one of a kind’ teacher
OFFICIALS and teachers took turns to commend retiring Agriculture teacher Thulie Masuku-Mdluli for displaying the true qualities of a passionate teacher over the past 30 years.
The speech and prize giving day at Mphundle High School was doubled with the farewell function of MasukuMdluli who has been with the school since the early 1980s.
Masuku-Mdluli, wife to Lubombo Regional Education Officer Wellington Mdluli was described as a true reflection of a teacher who undertook the profession for the love of it.
When making her remarks, Principal of the school, Phumzile Nkumane-Dlamini said the retiring teacher has been an inspiration to other teachers as she always displayed professionalism in her work. She said despite having been with the same school for many years, she remained committed to her work and put her pupils first. Meanwhile, Schools Inspector Gugu Dlamini who represented the regional education office said the ministry was happy with the conduct displayed by the retiring teacher. Dlamini pointed out that Masuku-Mdluli has never been reported for any disciplinary issues.
She then urged younger teachers to follow the same path and remain committed to their work.
