The prizes were announced by STA Board Chairperson Nomsa Mabila.
The winners participated in a competition which was intended to establish how much were people aware of sustainable tourism.
The event was themed ‘Sustainable tourism, a tool for development.”
Mabila said the theme was an opportunity to raise awareness of the contribution of sustainable tourism to development among public and private sector decision makers. “In order for us to live in a peaceful eco system we would like to encourage the nation to better take care of the environment. We are happy to award these different individuals who see the importance of the tourism sector and have a better understanding of sustainable tourism,” she said.
