Phalala Fund comes through for eye cancer patient
THE man with a rare eye cancer condition will sooner than later be taken by Phalala Fund to South Africa for treatment.
Dumsani Dlamini, a labourer at Dalcrue, has been living with eye cancer since 2014 and this resulted in his right eye popping up. He has been living in pain since then.
Dlamini’s ordeal was published by the Swazi Observer recently and Phalala Fund has since sprung to action to assist him.
Director of Health Services Dr Vusi Magagula said they were aware of Dlamini’s condition, however, there was a communication breakdown between the two parties as a result they could not reach Dlamini on his mobile when his appointment to leave the country was due. “Phalala Fund’s principle is
thus we are still willing to assist the patient to go for an operation despite that he was not reached on his cellphone number. He also did not have a travelling document, otherwise he would have gone for an operation long time ago,’’ he said. Magagula advised Dlamini to visit Phalala Fund offices as soon as possible with the doctor’s letter and the relavent documents.
