Chen joined Maloney and his bike team Thursday on one of the legs in Southern California, the Taiwanese PC maker said in a statement.
“I truly admire Sean for his determination to recover after his debilitating stroke, as well as his drive to inform others about preventative measures,” Chen said of the former Intel executive vice president, who suffered a stroke in February 2010 and retired in January 2013.
“On behalf of Acer, I am pleased to join him on this inspiring quest to encourage people to lead healthier lives and get essential screening to help detect early signs of strokes and heart disease,” Chen said in the statement.
Heart Across America kicked off March 22, with the final stretch scheduled for June 15. Donations raised from the mission will go toward the American Heart Association
