Warm weather is expected across the country during the Tomb Sweeping holiday weekend April 3-6, the Central Weather Bureau said Thursday.

Daytime highs could hit 32-34 degrees Celsius in Western Taiwan and 29-31 degrees in eastern Taiwan, according to the bureau.

Forecasters said most parts of the country could see cloudy to sunny skies, except for Eastern Taiwan and mountainous areas of Northern and Central Taiwan, where sporadic showers are likely.

However, a cold front approaching from the north could bring more moisture to Taiwan starting later Monday, increasing the chances of rain in Eastern Taiwan and mountainous areas across the island, the bureau said.

Meanwhile, Super Typhoon Maysak, moving westward toward the Philippines, is unlikely to have a direct impact on Taiwan in the near future, it said.
