Sri Lanka seeks out assistance to evacuate nationals from Yemen
Sri Lanka's government said Friday that it has sought assistance from neighboring India and China to help evacuate its citizens in Yemen amid the raging violence there.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Satya Rodrigo said that the ministry has details of 81 Sri Lankans in the country.
He said India and China have agreed to move the Sri Lankans along with their nationals out of Yemen.
Three Sri Lankans are reported to have reached Djibouti, he said.
The ministry said it has also contacted the International Organization for Migration for help.
