Acer re­news its mar­ket­ing part­ner­ship with Blue Jays

The Canadian branch of Tai­wanese com­puter maker Acer Inc. (

) an­nounced Tues­day that it has re­newed its sta­tus as an Of­fi­cial Part­ner of the Toronto Blue Jays and will have an ex­panded role with the Jays Care Foun­da­tion for the 2015 base­ball sea­son.

As the team’s ex­clu­sive part­ner for lap­tops and tablets, Acer will again be pro­moted through mar­ket­ing pro­grams and sta­dium pro­mo­tions de­signed to “en­sure Toronto Blue Jays fans en­joy their fa­vorite team while learn­ing more about Acer,” the com­pany said in a state­ment. To cel­e­brate the re­newal of this mar­ket­ing part­ner­ship, Acer Cor­po­rate Pres­i­dent and CEO Ja­son Chen ( ) will throw the cer­e­mo­nial first pitch at the Blue Jays’ home game against the Bal­ti­more Ori­oles on April 21.

“This part­ner­ship is the per­fect fit be­tween Canada’s lead­ing provider of note­books and Canada’s only Ma­jor League Base­ball team, as well as one of the coun­try’s most beloved sports fran­chises,” said Terry Tome­cek, gen­eral manager of Acer Canada.

“For the 2015 sea­son, we will re­tain all of the suc­cess­ful el­e­ments of last year’s part­ner­ship and add some ex­cit­ing new el­e­ments and in­creased in­volve­ment in Jays Care Foun­da­tion. This al­liance is an out­stand­ing way to connect with and en­gage with base­ball fans,” Tome­cek said.

In 2015, Acer will be­come the lead Tech­nol­ogy Part­ner for the Sport­snet Char­ity Broad­cast Auc­tion in sup­port of the Jays Care Foun­da­tion.

Acer will also con­tinue to sup­port foun­da­tion part­ner­ships through the Home Run Schol­ars pro­gram, which helps youth in low-in­come com­mu­ni­ties grad­u­ate from high school and suc­cess­fully tran­si­tion into post­sec­ondary ed­u­ca­tion or train­ing, ac­cord­ing to the com­pany.
