Auto parts ex­hi­bi­tion scale hits new high

The size of the an­nual Taipei In­ter­na­tional Auto Parts & Ac­ces­sories Show (Taipei AMPA,

) hit a new high this year as the ex­hi­bi­tion has taken place in con­junc­tion with other four re­lated trade fairs, boost­ing its visibility, the Tai­wan Ex­ter­nal Trade Devel­op­ment Coun­cil (TAITRA, ) said Wed­nes­day.

The Taipei AMPA, which kicked off at Ex­hi­bi­tion Hall 1 and the Nan­gang Ex­hi­bi­tion Hall of the Taipei World Trade Cen­ter that day and will run through April 11, has teamed up with four other ex­hi­bi­tions to ex­pand the scale of the trade show to that of a “mega show” this year, TAITRA said.

The four other ex­hi­bi­tions are the Taipei In­ter­na­tional Au­to­mo­bile Elec­tron­ics Show, the Tai­wan In­ter­na­tional Mo­tor­cy­cle Show, the Tai­wan In­ter­na­tional Elec­tric Ve­hi­cle Show and the Tun­ing & Car Care Tai­wan Show.

TAITRA said that the num­ber of ex­hibitors at the five trade shows rose about 4 per­cent from a year ear­lier to 1,401 firms from Tai­wan and abroad, while the num­ber of booths also rose 4 per­cent year-on-year to 3,816.

Amid ris­ing in­ter­est in the Taipei AMPA and the four other trade fairs, both the ex­hibitor and booth fig­ures for the 2015 show hit record highs, the TAITRA said.

Among the 1,401 ex­hibitors, a to­tal of 205 came from abroad, the or­ga­nizer said, adding that sev­eral for­eign coun­tries such as China, Thai­land and Malaysia have set up spe­cial pavil­ions.

TAITRA said it ex­pects a to­tal of 60,000 vis­i­tors to at­tend the shows this year, in­clud­ing 7,300 po­ten­tial buy­ers from abroad.

Ac­cord­ing to the Tai­wan Trans­porta­tion Ve­hi­cle Man­u­fac­tur­ers As­so­ci­a­tion, ex­ports of Tai­wan-made auto parts for 2014 to­taled NT$ 207.7 bil­lion (US$6.64 bil­lion), up 4.96 per- cent from a year ear­lier.

) said mean­while that the as­so­ci­a­tion will or­ga­nize del­e­ga­tions to visit Malaysia, In­done­sia, Turkey, Iran and China later in the year to seek busi­ness op­por­tu­ni­ties over­seas.
