HTC unveils customized cellphones for China
Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC Corp. ( unveiled two bigger-screen variants of its One M9 flagship phone in China Wednesday with customized software features for Chinese consumers.
Just weeks after the One M9 debuted at the Mobile World Congress show in Barcelona, HTC took the wraps off the One M9 Plus in Beijing — a slightly larger phone with a nearly identical metal unibody design.
The major enhancements of the M9 Plus include a 5.2-inch 2K display with a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels, a MediaTek MT6795T octa-core 2.2GHz mobile processor, a fingerprint scanner built into a home button on the front, the new-and-improved Duo Camera and support for up to 2TB of micro-SD external storage.
Another new handset announced that same day is the less expensive E9 Plus, which sports a 5.5 inch 2K display, a MediaTek MT6795 octa- core processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage and a 20-megapixel main camera.
