Ex-deputy envoy to US to be MOFA spokeswoman
Taiwan’s former deputy representative to the United States has been named spokeswoman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ministry officials said Thursday.
Eleanor Wang ( ) who returned to Taiwan earlier this month after a six-year posting in the United States, will succeed Anna Kao ( ) as the ministry’s spokeswoman.
Wang’s performance in Washington, D.C. received high recognition from Representative to the U.S. Shen Lyushun (
), who promoted her from chief of the political section at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in the U.S. to deputy representative last year, a diplomatic source said.
In addition to two overseas postings — in Washington and New York — Wang has worked at the ministry’s Department of North American Affairs and the Department of East Asian and Pacific Affairs.
