Flight Academy (

) was recently joined by Australian Ansett Aviation Training to establish a world- class pilot training center in Taiwan, the inauguration of which is scheduled for the end of 2015, according to APEX.

“Taiwan has a long-term vision to train a pilot workforce from its citizens, lessening the reliance on foreign nationals. It’s a key component of securing the aviation future of Taiwan and establishing Taiwan as a center of pilot training excellence in Asia,” said David Garside, CEO of Ansett Aviation Training.

APEX Flight Academy CEO Wilson Kao ( ) said that the establishing of this training center is APEX’s response to the existing needs and rapid growth of Taiwan’s low- cost airlines. Moreover, Kao added that this partnership will be a pioneering center in Asia, offering a complete package of flight training to student pilots and experienced airline captains alike.

The training center will be located in the vicinity of Taipei. The pilot training facility will house an A320 Full- flight Simulator, Fixed-base Simulator, Cabin Crew Trainer and first-class supporting infrastructure, according to APEX.
