TWSE and TAIFEX team up with institutions for charity
The Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE, ) and Taiwan Futures Exchange (TAIFEX,
) recently cooperated with four financial institutions to aid under-privileged children though charity donations.
The movement was advocated by Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC, ) Chairman William Tseng ( ). Together, TWSE, TAIFEX, the National Credit Card Center ( ), the Joint Credit Information Center (
), the Taiwan Depository & Clearing Corporation ( ) and the Taipei Exchange ( ) worked to launch the “A Care per School Program” ( ), and donated NT$7.2 million to help eight rural schools and 11 social welfare organizations.
The program seeks to support students in rural areas, and also aims to help prevent students from skipping school or wandering aimlessly in places after school and receiving negative influences on their character and educational development. The program also provides underprivileged children with dinners so that they can grow up in a caring environment.
The program will also help to develop special classes that are tailored specifically according to the location of a school. Teachers will have the resources to help students complete their homework and organize art appreciation as well as arts and crafts classes for children to develop the artistic side of their characters instead of only focusing on the academic.
