TWSE and TAIFEX team up with in­sti­tu­tions for char­ity

The Tai­wan Stock Ex­change (TWSE, ) and Tai­wan Fu­tures Ex­change (TAIFEX,

) re­cently co­op­er­ated with four fi­nan­cial in­sti­tu­tions to aid un­der-priv­i­leged chil­dren though char­ity dona­tions.

The move­ment was ad­vo­cated by Fi­nan­cial Su­per­vi­sory Com­mis­sion (FSC, ) Chair­man Wil­liam Tseng ( ). To­gether, TWSE, TAIFEX, the Na­tional Credit Card Cen­ter ( ), the Joint Credit In­for­ma­tion Cen­ter (

), the Tai­wan De­pos­i­tory & Clear­ing Cor­po­ra­tion ( ) and the Taipei Ex­change ( ) worked to launch the “A Care per School Pro­gram” ( ), and do­nated NT$7.2 mil­lion to help eight ru­ral schools and 11 so­cial wel­fare or­ga­ni­za­tions.

The pro­gram seeks to sup­port stu­dents in ru­ral ar­eas, and also aims to help pre­vent stu­dents from skip­ping school or wan­der­ing aim­lessly in places af­ter school and re­ceiv­ing neg­a­tive in­flu­ences on their char­ac­ter and ed­u­ca­tional devel­op­ment. The pro­gram also pro­vides un­der­priv­i­leged chil­dren with din­ners so that they can grow up in a car­ing en­vi­ron­ment.

The pro­gram will also help to de­velop spe­cial classes that are tai­lored specif­i­cally ac­cord­ing to the lo­ca­tion of a school. Teach­ers will have the re­sources to help stu­dents com­plete their homework and or­ga­nize art ap­pre­ci­a­tion as well as arts and crafts classes for chil­dren to de­velop the artis­tic side of their char­ac­ters in­stead of only fo­cus­ing on the aca­demic.
