Sch­muacher Jr. 12th in 2nd For­mula Four race

Mick Schu­macher Jr. fin­ished 12th in his sec­ond For­mula Four race on Sun­day hav­ing en­hanced the fa­mous name by claim­ing the best rookie tro­phy on his de­but the day be­fore.

The 16- year- old son of sev­en­time world cham­pion Michael Schu­macher fin­ished 10.07 sec­onds be­hind win­ner Marvin Dienst, who also won Satur­day's race over 18 laps at the Osch­er­sleben track, near Hanover.

Schu­macher had started 19th on the grid for Sun­day morn­ing's race hav­ing started his fledg­ling For­mula Four ca­reer this week­end.

On Satur­day, Schu­macher won the best rookie ti­tle on his de­but be­hind the For­mula Four wheel when he fin­ished ninth in the first of the week­end's three races de­spite start­ing 19th on the grid.

Af­ter a suc­cess­ful kart­ing ca­reer, Schu­macher Jr. has signed for Dutch Van Amers­foort Rac­ing team in Europe's ADAC For­mula Four sea­son, which runs un­til Oc­to­ber.

Schu­macher Jr. has an­other chance to chal­lenge in Sun­day af­ter­noon's third and fi­nal race at 3: 20 p. m. ( 1320 GMT) which he will start on the grid's first row when the or­der from the morn­ing's race is reversed.

With Michael Schu­macher still re­cov­er­ing from a se­ri­ous head in­jury suf­fered dur­ing a ski­ing ac­ci­dent in De­cem­ber 2013, his fa­ther Rolf Schu­macher was at the Osch­er­sleben to watch his grand­son race.
