TWTC chairman elected to board of WTCA
Taipei World Trade Center (TWTC, ) Chairman Francis K.H. Liang ( ) was elected as a board member of the World Trade Centers Association ( WTCA) on Monday, a great opportunity to promote TWTC’s visibility in the 330- member organization and enhance Taiwan’s global image, according to a press release from the TWTC.
Liang, who also leads Taiwan’s main trade promotion body, Taiwan External Trade Development Council, expressed his gratitude and honor after the result was announced at the 46th WTCA General Assembly held in Manila April 26-29, TWTC stated.
“I would like to thank all of you for your support and for giving me this privilege to serve you,” said Liang. “I will devote myself and my abilities to continuing WTCA’s efforts in supporting and building closer relationships with all WTCA members, looking after the growth of the WTCA family in the years ahead.”
Hoping to make WTCA even stronger, Liang vowed to do his utmost to help promote international trade and forge global business connections. TWTC would also like to build up a cooperative platform between Taiwanese companies and international companies from other WTCA members, creating more trade opportunities, said TWTC.
The TWTC is a devoted member of the WTCA family and has been supporting the Association’s activities since 1981. It marked a milestone in WTCA history by achieving “Best Practice” in all eight categories of the WTCA certification program in 2012. It was the highest number of honors WTCA had ever awarded to a single member, according to TWTC.
Established in 1970, the WTCA is now a global trade promotion organization that has 330 members from 92 economies worldwide. Dubbed “the United Nations for trade,” WTCA stimulates trade and investment opportunities for commercial property developers, economic development agencies and international businesses looking to connect globally and prosper locally, TWTC stated.
