Whistle­blow­ers stymied in pes­ti­cide scan­dal: firm

The in­dus­try, gov­ern­ment and academia are all aware of the wide­spread pes­ti­cide residue prob­lem, con­se­quently mak­ing would- be whistle­blow­ers feel pow­er­less, said I-Mei Foods Co. Gen­eral Manager Kao Chih-ming amid a slew of re­cently sur­faced food scan­dals.

Drink shop CoCo yes­ter­day joined 50 Lan for hav­ing used tea leaves that con­tain an un­law­ful amount of pes­ti­cide residue.

Kao yes­ter­day is­sued a state­ment say­ing that ero tol­er­ance of residue is no longer fea­si­ble in the overly pol­luted world.
