EU of­fi­cial set for mission to talk SME co­op­er­a­tion

Daniel Calleja, direc­tor-gen­eral for In­ter­nal Mar­ket, In­dus­try, En­trepreneur­ship and Small and Medium-sized En­ter­prises (SMEs) of the Euro­pean Com­mis­sion, will lead a mission to Tai­wan June 3-5 to strengthen busi­ness links.

The mission is part of a se­ries of “Mis­sions for Growth” to help Euro­pean en­ter­prises, in par­tic­u­lar SMEs, to take bet­ter ad­van­tage of fast-grow­ing in­ter­na­tional mar­kets, the Euro­pean Eco­nomic and Trade Of­fice (EETO) in Taipei said in a state­ment.

Calleja will be ac­com­pa­nied by a del­e­ga­tion of 58 rep­re­sen­ta­tives of busi­ness as­so­ci­a­tions and en­trepreneurs from 14 EU mem­ber states that will dis­cuss with Tai­wanese en­trepreneurs and pol­i­cy­mak­ers how to iden­tify busi­ness op­por­tu­ni­ties and foster industrial co­op­er­a­tion, in­clud­ing in­no­va­tion, SME pol­icy and stan­dard­iza­tion, the EETO said.
