Coun­cilor de­mands in­ves­ti­ga­tion on ‘leaked’ video footage

Taipei City Coun­cilor Chin Huichu ( ) de­manded an in­ves­ti­ga­tion af­ter footage show­ing her lam­bast­ing Taipei City Po­lice Com­mis­sioner Chiu Feng-kuang (

) was pub­li­cized. Chin said that she was shocked to learn of the footage and said it was a vi­o­la­tion of pri­vacy.

In the 26-sec­ond video footage which was made public on the In­ter­net, view­ers can clearly hear Chin shout­ing at Chiu, “Let me tell you, it’s a mat­ter not only which I am con­cerned about, ev­ery child cares about this … it’s of no use, let me tell you … Chiu Feng-kuang, I am go­ing to re­mem­ber this quar­rel for a long time, and to­mor­row you bet­ter bring some peo­ple who can clar­ify the mat­ter.”

Ac­cord­ing to Chiu, the ex­change was prompted when she ex­pressed dis­sat­is­fac­tion to­ward Taipei City Mayor Ko Wen-je’s ( ) mea­sures to guar­an­tee the safety of school chil­dren, which lead to her heated ex­change in the af­ter­noon with Com­mis­sioner Chiu since his state­ments did not run par­al­lel with those of Ko’s.

Re­act­ing to the footage be­ing re­leased, Chiu said she was shocked and would de­mand an in­ves­ti­ga­tion into the mat­ter.
