CAL wins ac­co­lade from Eco­nomics Min­istry


China Air­lines ( CAL) re­cently re­ceived the Ex­cel­lence in En­tre­pre­neur­ial In­no­va­tion Award (

) from the Min­istry of Eco­nomic Af­fairs ( MOEA) for the air­line’s achieve­ment in a spe­cially de­signed project plan.

The award was part of the 4th Na­tional Industrial In­no­va­tion Award ( ) that is or­ga­nized bi- an­nu­ally by the MOEA. This year’s theme cen­tered on the idea of in­no­va­tion, and en­cour­aged lo­cal com­pa­nies to con­trib­ute to the na­tion.

Dur­ing the award cer­e­mony on June 3, CAL was awarded with the ac­co­lade for the New- Gen 777 Project Plan ( 777 ) , a pro­gram that is cur­rently car­ried out by CAL’s Boe­ing 777- 300ER fleet

The ex­cel­lence of the pro­gram’s de­sign, artis­tic con­cept, ad­ver­tis­ing cam­paign and ef­forts demon­strated by the project team were all rea­sons which gar­nered CAL the award.

Aside from earn­ing the award from the MOEA, CAL was also a win­ner of other recog­ni­tions such as the Golden Pin De­sign Award ( ) and the 2015 Red Dot Award in De­sign ( ).

CAL has said that the com­pany wishes to show the gen­eral public its de­ter­mi­na­tion in ad­vo­cat­ing the art of Tai­wan, through the cur­rent ser­vices seen on the Boe­ing 777- 300ERs and the A350 fleet that will soon come into the air­line’s ser­vice. in 18 mar­kets and 280 branches world­wide.

”As a lead­ing bank in Asia, DBS has a grow­ing pres­ence in the three Asian axes with huge growth: Greater China, Southeast Asia and South Asia,” DBS Chief Ex­ec­u­tive Of­fi­cer Piyush Gupta stated, fur­ther say­ing that the Aus­tralian mar­ket has de­vel­oped into an im­por­tant trad­ing part­ner among Asian coun­tries in re­cent years.

“We be­lieve with DBS’ branch­ing in Australia, we can ac­tively help our clients ex­tend their busi­nesses in Asia.” Gupta said.

Yap, on the other hand, ex­pressed that she hoped with DBS’ ex­per­tise in Asian mar­kets, the bank can help Aus­tralian busi­nesses pro­mote their own ser­vices. DBS Bank was rec­og­nized as the “Bank of the Year, Asia” by The Banker, “Best Bank in Asi­aPa­cific” by Global Fi­nance, and also named by Global Fi­nance as the “Safest Bank in Asia” for six con­sec­u­tive years from 2009 to 2014.
