Taiwanese leaps to silver at Asian Athletics contest
Taiwan’s Hsiang Chun-hsien won silver in the men’s high jump at the 2015 Asian Athletics Championships in China Sunday, giving Taiwan its first medal in that category at the games.
Hsiang placed second with a jump that cleared the 2.24-meter mark but hit the bar at 2.28 meters.
Takashi Eto of Japan also failed to clear the bar at 2.28-meters, but took the gold medal because he had fewer failed attempts than Hsiang at the 2.24-meter mark.
The Asian Athletics Championships is being held at the Wuhan Sports Center in China from June 3-7.
