KMT opinion polls due today, Hung’s odds ‘extremely good’
The results of opinion polls on Deputy Speaker Hung Hsiu-chu ( ) will be published today as part of the ruling Kuomintang's (KMT) presidential primary.
Her chances of gaining
the presidential nomination are extremely good, a party source told The China Post.
Hung is likely to meet the "antibrick" ( ) clause, which stipulates that a contender must win at least 30-percent support in an intraparty poll to secure nomination.
KMT sources quoted by the United Evening News said Hung can expect to take over 40-percent support.
