Tig­erair plans to launch Kaoh­si­ung-Osaka flights

Tig­erair Tai­wan, a joint ven­ture be­tween Tai­wan’s China Air­lines and Sin­ga­pore’s Tiger Air­ways, said Mon­day it will launch a ser­vice be­tween Kaoh­si­ung in south­ern Tai­wan and Osaka in Ja­pan on July 3 to cap­i­tal­ize on in­creas­ing travel be­tween the two coun­tries.

Start­ing “some­time Mon­day” un­til 23:59 p.m. Wed­nes­day, the bud­get car­rier said, it will of­fer one-way tick­ets on­line for as lit­tle as NT$999 (US$32) for flights be­tween the two cities.

The tick­ets will be valid for travel dur­ing the pe­riod July 3 to Oct. 24, it said.

The air­line will op­er­ate one daily trip be­tween Kaoh­si­ung and Osaka, de­part­ing Tai­wan at 4:05 p.m. and leav­ing Ja­pan at 11:15 a.m. (Ja­pan time) the next day.
