Analyst gives his top ten key forecasts for the next-gen iPhone

The China Post - - BUSINESS -

With growing expectations for Apple Inc.' s next- generation smartphone later this year, KGI Securities analyst Kuo Ming-chi has updated his predictions of the top 10 key features he expects to see in the new iPhone.

Kuo, who has in the past proved accurate in predicting Apple's moves, said the socalled iPhone 6S is expected to accommodate Apple's new Force Touch feature that allows users to press harder on the display for new input methods such as handwriting signature, which will help the phone expand into the business sector.

In terms of appearance, the iPhone 6S will come in screen sizes of both 4.7 and 5.5 inches with the same screen resolution as the current models, but it will also be available in a new rose gold color to match the color of the Apple Watch, Kuo said in a recent research note.

The device will also add a microphone to the location of its speakers to improve voice call quality, and feature upgrades to the 12-megapixel camera and to the A9 processor using a faster 2GB LPDDR4 RAM chip, Kuo predicted.

Other improvements include a change in casing material to keep the device from bending, an improved Touch ID recognition to promote Apple's mobile payment service, and the use of sapphire panels in limited volumes of 5.5-inch iPhone 6S, he said.
