World cham­pion set to throw in­no­va­tion — and whiskey — into the mix

World Cham­pion Mixol­o­gist Tom Walker is com­ing to town to present his award-win­ning cock­tail se­lec­tions in three dif­fer­ent lounges at Marco Polo Lounge on June 25-26 at Shangri-La’s Far Eastern Plaza Ho­tel, Taipei, ac­cord­ing to a press re­lease of the ho­tel.

Dur­ing his visit he will also hold two spe­cial classes at Li Bai Lounge and the Lobby Court to teach some easy home-made cock­tail that will please one’s spirit amidst the hus­tle and bus­tle of city life! Don’t miss the chance to meet the world fa­mous mixol­o­gist in per­son, the ho­tel said.

At the age of 28, Tom Walker ce­mented his rep­u­ta­tion at the Bac­ardi Legacy Global Cock­tail Com­pe­ti­tion 2014, tri­umph­ing over 26 of the finest mixol­o­gists around the world with his re­fresh­ing cock­tail “Maid in Cuba” inspired by the Cuban history of Bac­ardi and inspired by the movie, Maid, in New York. This win­ning cock­tail made with Bac­ardi Su­pe­rior, lime juice, mint, cu­cum­ber and soda wa­ter, fea­tures a per­fect bal­ance of fla­vors and a cool re­fresh­ing taste, the ho­tel stated.

Dur­ing Walker’s first ever visit to Taipei, he will host a Whiskey cock­tail class in Li Bai Lounge from 2 p.m. to 4 pm on June 25th and a Gin cock­tail class at Lobby Court from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on June 26th, in­tro­duc­ing his win­ning cock­tails to Taipei drinkers. In ad­di­tion, guests can also en­joy his sig­na­ture cock­tails and the stun­ning skyline of Taipei at the Marco Polo Lounge in the evening over these two dates, said the ho­tel.
