World champion set to throw innovation — and whiskey — into the mix
World Champion Mixologist Tom Walker is coming to town to present his award-winning cocktail selections in three different lounges at Marco Polo Lounge on June 25-26 at Shangri-La’s Far Eastern Plaza Hotel, Taipei, according to a press release of the hotel.
During his visit he will also hold two special classes at Li Bai Lounge and the Lobby Court to teach some easy home-made cocktail that will please one’s spirit amidst the hustle and bustle of city life! Don’t miss the chance to meet the world famous mixologist in person, the hotel said.
At the age of 28, Tom Walker cemented his reputation at the Bacardi Legacy Global Cocktail Competition 2014, triumphing over 26 of the finest mixologists around the world with his refreshing cocktail “Maid in Cuba” inspired by the Cuban history of Bacardi and inspired by the movie, Maid, in New York. This winning cocktail made with Bacardi Superior, lime juice, mint, cucumber and soda water, features a perfect balance of flavors and a cool refreshing taste, the hotel stated.
During Walker’s first ever visit to Taipei, he will host a Whiskey cocktail class in Li Bai Lounge from 2 p.m. to 4 pm on June 25th and a Gin cocktail class at Lobby Court from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on June 26th, introducing his winning cocktails to Taipei drinkers. In addition, guests can also enjoy his signature cocktails and the stunning skyline of Taipei at the Marco Polo Lounge in the evening over these two dates, said the hotel.
