Grand Ho­tel in­stills Chi­nese art into its decor

Tai­wan’s land­mark Grand Ho­tel in Yuan­shan, Taipei hosted a cross-strait artis­tic ex­change yesterday be­tween Chi­nese and Tai­wanese artists to high­light the tra­di­tional dé­cor made up flow­ers of the “Four Noble Ones” in­clud­ing the orchid, bam­boo, chrysan­the­mum and plum blos­som.

The tra­di­tional style of the eight floors of guest rooms pre­sented a re­gal at­mos­phere. The ho­tel in­vited pain­ters and cal­lig­ra­phers from China and Tai­wan in­clud­ing Guo Shifu, Wang Linxu and Zhao Xuemin in the Chi­nese paint­ing and cal­lig­ra­phy event.

The ho­tel which has hosted many vis­it­ing for­eign dig­ni­taries was es­tab­lished in 1952, and is one of the world’s tallest Chi­nese clas­si­cal build­ings.
