Charter flights launched between Taitung and HK

The China Post - - LOCAL -

Charter flight services between southeastern Taiwan’s Taitung and Hong Kong were launched Saturday to provide more convenient air traffic between both sides during the peak summer travel period.

The flights, operated by China Airlines, first brought 104 visitors from Hong Kong to Taitung and carried 87 passengers on the return direction.

The 85-minute flight could be an ideal travel option because instead of using the Kaohsiung International Airport in southern Taiwan, tourists can take advantage of the new air link to save at least two hours of ground travel time, according to the local government.

The flights, which can carry 104 passengers at full capacity, will run every Wednesday and Saturday through Aug. 29, officials said.
