CNA is No. 5 online news source for col­lege stu­dents

The Cen­tral News Agency (CNA), Tai­wan’s na­tional news agency, was one of the five news web­sites that drew the most vis­its by univer­sity and col­lege stu­dents around the coun­try, ac­cord­ing to a Shih Hsin Univer­sity sur­vey re­leased Fri­day.

The sur­vey found 73.4 per­cent of the re­spon­dent univer­sity and col­lege stu­dents used the In­ter­net as their key ve­hi­cle to ac­cess news.

The news web­site the stu­dents vis­ited most fre­quently was Ya­hoo Kimo News, fol­lowed by Google News, NowNews, Nius News and CNA, ac­cord­ing to the sur­vey.

Among five ma­jor media cat­e­gories, the us­age rate of the In­ter­net was the high­est, at­tract­ing 98.9 per­cent of univer­sity and col­lege stu­dent users. It was fol­lowed by tele­vi­sion (82.4 per­cent), news­pa­per (42.2 per­cent), mag­a­zine (25.8 per­cent) and ra­dio (19.8 per­cent), the sur­vey showed.
