Youths flock to university for seminar on Buddhism
Nanhua University ( ) recently held this year’s International Youth Seminar on Life and Ch’an, in which thousands of college and graduate students from around the world gather to experience Chan Buddhism and Taiwan culture.
Attendees at this year’s seminar included students from the University of Cambridge, University of Oxford, Yale University, Peking University and other universities from 30 countries, among them Hungary, Romania, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea and Japan.
The International Youth Seminar on Life and Ch’an is a place for youth to experience Chan, to delve deeper into their own spirit and also to get to know the people and cultures of different countries.
The seven-day seminar offers lessons in Ch’an, Buddhism and meditation. It also takes the participants to visit holy sites across Taiwan.
