Youths flock to univer­sity for seminar on Bud­dhism

Nan­hua Univer­sity ( ) re­cently held this year’s In­ter­na­tional Youth Seminar on Life and Ch’an, in which thou­sands of col­lege and grad­u­ate stu­dents from around the world gather to ex­pe­ri­ence Chan Bud­dhism and Tai­wan cul­ture.

At­ten­dees at this year’s seminar in­cluded stu­dents from the Univer­sity of Cam­bridge, Univer­sity of Ox­ford, Yale Univer­sity, Pek­ing Univer­sity and other univer­si­ties from 30 coun­tries, among them Hungary, Ro­ma­nia, Aus­tralia, New Zealand, South Korea and Ja­pan.

The In­ter­na­tional Youth Seminar on Life and Ch’an is a place for youth to ex­pe­ri­ence Chan, to delve deeper into their own spirit and also to get to know the peo­ple and cul­tures of dif­fer­ent coun­tries.

The seven-day seminar of­fers lessons in Ch’an, Bud­dhism and med­i­ta­tion. It also takes the par­tic­i­pants to visit holy sites across Tai­wan.
