Dos San­tos scores de­but goal, as­sist as Gal­axy beat Seat­tle 3-1

Mexico for­ward Gio­vani dos San­tos scored one goal and set up another in an im­pres­sive Ma­jor League Soc­cer de­but, lead­ing the Los An­ge­les Gal­axy to a 3- 1 vic­tory over the Seat­tle Sounders on Sun­day.

Dos San­tos set up cap­tain Rob­bie Keane’s goal in the 47th minute be­fore the play­maker scored his first MLS goal in the 64th, tak­ing a beau­ti­ful pass from Keane and bury­ing his shot past Ste­fan Frei.

Dos San­tos started up front along­side Keane and took corners as the Gal­axy of­fi­cially un­veiled the new­est ac­qui­si­tion in their star- stud­ded lineup.

The sell­out crowd gave a stand­ing ova­tion when dos San­tos left in the 69th minute.

With David Beck­ham watch­ing from a lux­ury suite, Gyasi Zardes also scored as the Gal­axy un­leashed the full might of their reloaded squad for the first time.

Chad Bar­rett scored in the open­ing minute for the Sounders.

In Sun­day’s other match, Bradley Wright- Phillips and Felipe Martins scored to help the New York Red Bulls to a 2- 0 win for a sea­son sweep over lo­cal ri­val New York City.

Wright- Phillips put away a right- footer from the top of the 6- yard box in the 21st minute, off a cross from Ke­mar Lawrence. Martins gave the Red Bulls a 2- 0 lead in the 85th when he when went his shot from the left side of the box found the back of the net.

The Red Bulls are un­beaten in their last five games and 3- 0 against City.
