The China Post - - LOCAL -

President Ma Ying-jeou extolled Tuesday the long-standing diplomatic ties between the Republic of China and Honduras, praising the Central American country as a friend indeed and envisioning broader exchanges between the two sides.

Thanking Honduras for speaking out for the R.O.C. on multiple international occasions, Ma noted during a meeting with visiting Honduran Defense Minister Samuel Armando Reyes Redon that Honduras set up formal ties with the R.O.C. in 1941, at a time when the country was still deep in the throes of the fight against Japanese aggression.
