Elvis Pres­ley ‘For­ever’ stamp go­ing on sale

The Elvis Pres­ley “For­ever” stamp is go­ing on sale shortly at U.S. post of­fices.

Priscilla Pres­ley, ex-wife of the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll, joined Post­mas­ter Gen­eral Me­gan Bren­nan at a ded­i­ca­tion cer­e­mony Wed­nes­day out­side Grace­land, Pres­ley’s long­time home in Mem­phis. Another cer­e­mony is planned Thurs­day at the Elvis Pres­ley Birthplace in Tu­pelo, Mis­sis­sippi.

The stamp, a black-and-white im­age of the young Elvis ac­com­pa­nied by Pres­ley’s sig­na­ture in gold ink, is part of the Postal Ser­vice’s “Mu­sic Icons” se­ries. The Postal Ser­vice also is ex­clu­sively re­leas­ing “Elvis Pres­ley For­ever,” a CD of 18 Pres­ley hits.
